A common phrasing people use is something [adjective]. Like something big or something funny or something strong.
In German, that is etwas (or just was in spoken German) and the ending on the adjective is always “-es”

- etwas großes
Forgetting the “-es” is a common mistake, but it sounds really bad because the rhythm is different.
No need to think about grammar, just add -es.
Oh and that goes for comparisons, too.
