“Blaukraut bleibt Blaukraut und
Brautkleid bleibt Brautkleid.”
One of the most famous German tongue twisters and for me at least, the most difficult one. This whole bl and be and bt stuff just keeps tripping me up.
Blaukraut is a regional word for Rotkohl (red cabbage) and Brautkleid is a wedding dress. So the whole sentence basically means
“Red cabbage remains red cabbage and
wedding dress remains wedding dress.”
Which is no doubt an allegory on how some things in life just don’t change… or something.
